Glossary of dating-industry scouting terms

Plain-language definitions of the words used across this site and the wider dating-profile industry — so you can tell an honest offer from a scam by the vocabulary alone.

Profile balance
The money a dating profile has accumulated on a platform from paid messages, gifts and chats. A model earns a fixed percentage of this balance — 10% at AQ Scout — paid monthly.
Verified profile
A dating profile backed by a passport check (18+), a live video and written consent. It is the documented, genuinely real profile that platforms pay a premium for, because fakes get banned.
Profile earning (passive)
Income a model receives from her verified profile placed on platforms by partner agencies who handle all the messaging. She provides photos and data once and takes a percentage — no chatting or shifts.
Chat operator
A person paid per message to text users from a dating profile, usually one that is not their own. It is active shift work — the opposite of passive profile earning, and a common source of confusion.
Model scout
Someone who finds candidate models on social media and refers them to a scouting agency, earning a guaranteed base rate plus a bonus for each profile that passes verification.
Partner (dating) agency
A vetted agency that registers and operates verified profiles on international dating platforms and handles all messaging. AQ Scout supplies these partners with consent-backed profiles rather than placing profiles itself.
Liveness verification
A short live video check confirming the person in a profile is real and matches the photos, not a stolen photo set. Platforms increasingly require it periodically, not just once.
Passport verification
Confirming a model’s identity and age (18+) with a passport before any profile is created. It is mandatory across the legitimate industry, with no exceptions, and protects the model as much as the platform.
Exit procedure
The agreed process for withdrawing a profile from platforms when a model decides to stop. Legitimate agencies describe it in writing before any work begins — a refusal to explain it is a red flag.
Scout base rate
A guaranteed monthly minimum paid to a scout — $400 at AQ Scout — on top of per-profile bonuses, so income never depends on commission alone and no one has to overpromise to earn.
